Essence of Rosen

A Song of Healing

Like the Lilacs of May

My Rosen Method Bodywork experience is, “friends, like the lilacs of May”, a continuing discovery of the beauty, resilience and restoring power of life. It awakens the ever-new appreciation of the potential for personal transformation within us all.

Rosen Method Bodywork was initially developed by Marion Rosen, a Jewish woman who escaped Nazi Germany. Drawing on her expertise in physiology, psychotherapy, and a profound desire to assist others, Marion forged the path to the Rosen healing method.

My introduction to the Rosen Method through a book on transformation, coupled with my background in science and the arts, immediately resonated with me. As I immersed myself into Rosen sessions, I experienced its healing potency, eventually pursuing extensive training and hands-on practice to establish my own Rosen Method practice in the heart of Silicon Valley, Palo Alto.

What exactly draws me about the Rosen Method? Marion Rosen, before her passing at the age of 97, acknowledged that "The spiritual side of the Rosen Method has yet to be discovered." This sentiment echoes the words of Paramhansa Yogananda, "Human consciousness resides in the body's nervous system." These insights hint at the deep spiritual undercurrent within the ostensibly physical experience.

A fellow bodywork practitioner once stated, "As soon as we lay hands on clients, the two nerve systems (client's and practitioner's) start to communicate." With its deeply respectful and empathetic approach, the Rosen Method serves as a unique conduit to tap into human consciousness as well as providing bodily healing.
